High speed ferry Highspeed 5 holed in allision, Mykonos, Greece



On June 23 2012 a boat St Helena was leaving Mykonos port when engine failed, and boat allided with moored high speed ferry Highspeed 5. Both vessel were damaged, ferry suffered a portside hull gash of 57 centimeter length 4 mm width, 1 meter above waterline. Ferry was about to leave for a scheduled trip from Mykinos to Tinos, Syros and Piraeus, trip was cancelled, 102 passengers were taken on board of another high speed ferry. Passenger ro-ro catamaran Highspeed 5 IMO 9329095, GRT 4913, built 2005, flag Greece.
