Fishing vessel No.53 Chung Yong on fire, crew evacuated



South Korean fishing vessel No.53 Chung Yong reported fire around 1630 Tokyo time June 18 2012, being in position some 80 nm east off Tokyo in the Pacific. The 23 crew was rescued by nearby Korean fishing vessels, among crew 4 Koreans, 12 Indonesians, 3 Filipinos and 4 Vietnamese. Coast Guard Yokohama sent a patrol boat for investigation. Condition of the vessel No.53 Chung Yong is unknown. Fishing vessel No.53 Chung Yong IMO 8709066, GRT 628, built 1988, flag South Korea.
