Boxship FAS Provence sank in Mediterranean



Towed from Dakar unmanned boxship FAS Provence sank in position 34 35.2N, 015 13.7E (80 nm SSE of Malta, Delimara Point, on Medina Bank) at 0400 local time Jan 13. Vessel was towed by tugs West and Izmir Bull. On Jan 12 master of Izmir Bull informed Malta maritime authorities, that the condition of FAS Provence is deteriorating, vessel developed a growing list. 
Boxship FAS Provence IMO 8508436, dwt 8050, capacity 581 TEU, built 1986, flag Bahamas, manager Doehle (IOM) Ltd, Isle of Man.
