Freighter TK Bremen aground in stormy Biscay, crew evacuated

General cargo vessel TK Bremen drifted aground 1 mile South of Etel river estuary, Bay of Biscay, at 0200 LT Dec 16 2011, in a bad weather. Vessel sailed from Lorient in the afternoon Dec 15 and anchored north of Groix island to shelter from storm, dragged an anchor and grounded. At 0300 LT helicopter started evacuation of 19 crew, presumably all are rescued and safe. Vessel is in ballast, but bunker tanks or tank damaged, spill reported.
