Freighter Vasiliy Shukshin sank in Nikolayev while dismantling

At 02:30 LT August 6 Emergency Agency Nikolayev Branch was informed that the general cargo vessel Vasiliy Shukshin is sinking in Nikolayev Shiprepair Yard harbour, Ukraine, Black sea. Vessel was to be dismantled, demolition works already started. Vessel started to take water in aft section through some holes created during dismantling works, at around 10:00 the hull broke in two, and vessel sank. There was some oil residue leak. General cargo vessel Vasiliy Shukshin IMO 7732030, dwt 6078, built 1978, flag Ukraine. There is another general cargo vessel under the name Vasiliy Shikshin, which is ok and active - General cargo vessel Vasiliy Shukshin IMO 9057288, dwt 2792, built 1995, flag Malta.
