Woman swam for several hours in Black sea after falling overboard from m/v Phobus



A woman, crew member of a general cargo vessel Phobus, fell overboard in the morning hours on July 4 2012 in Black sea. Phobus was en route from Poti, Georgia, to Azov, Russia, and at the time of an accident was near Tuapse port. Vessel took an opposite course to search for a woman, and contacted authorities. A helicopter has been sent to the area, woman was spotted and airlifted around noon Moscow time, and taken to hospital in Sochi. At 15:00 UTC Phobus resumed voyage. Woman, who’s a cook, is in good health after swimming several hours in sea. General cargo vessel Phobus IMO 8888094, dwt 3154, built 1980, flag Russia, manager Blue Wave Co., USA.
