In the morning July 30 boxship General Romulo, berthed in Manila, was hit by a straying barge and suffered damages of yet unknown extent. Barge was anchored in the harbour and went drifting after the chain broke up due to strong wind and sea brought by tropical storm Saola. Boxship General Romulo IMO 9160499, dwt 5111, capacity 519 TEU, built 1997, flag Philippines, manager Magsaysay Maritime Corporation.
