Fire on board of cruise liner Crown Princess, Ionian sea



Fire occurred on board of cruise liner Crown Princess in the evening July 14 2012 in one of the cabins. Liner was cruising some 3 miles east of Antipaxos island (Ionian islands, Ionian sea), en route from Corfu to Piraeus with 3325 passengers on board, when the alarm went off. Fire was extinguished automatically by a sprinkling system causing minor property damaged. Nobody was injured. Katakolo port authorities boarded the vessel for survey and investigation, after survey vessel was cleared to resume voyage. Cruise liner Crown Princess IMO 9293399, GRT 113561, built 2006, flag Bermuda, manager PRINCESS CRUISE LINES LTD, USA.
