One more fishing vessel on fire, Montevideo


Montevideo - South Korean fishing vessel No.101 Hong Jin on July 27 suffered fire in engine room, fire extinguished, one crew hospitalized with gas and smoke poisoning. Vessel arrived Montevideo on July 26 with 33 tonns of toothfish on board. Montevideo turned into biggest fishing hub on Atlantic coast of S America, and reportedly incidents with fishing vessels are too numerous to be just accidents, there’s fishing war in there. During last year 4 South Korean vessel were put on fire, one sank. There are fights between crews and assaults. Fish is like gold or oil, sparking rivalry and fights.
