Three Beluga vessels in a difficult situation running out of stores

I received an emergency letter concerning the Beluga Group ships, and also a letter Company’s management sent to all it’s vessels. Presently now three vessels are in very difficult situation. Beluga Shanghai is drifting somewhere off S Korea (information unreliable, last AIS signal was received March 2011), running short of provisions. Beluga London is drifting off SAR, to run out of fuel in 5-6 days. Beluga Mumbai arrested in Indonesia, lack of fresh water, crew collecting rainy water. Beluga Shanghai IMO 9424572, dwt 20668, built 2010, flag Liberia. Beluga London IMO 9448308, dwt 20668, built 2010, flag Antigua. Beluga Mumbai IMO 9418987, dwt 18373,built 2010, flag Antigua.

A letter from management to all vessels:

Dear captains, dear crew,
With regards to the latest developments in bremen and the uncertainty all of us are confronted with I would like to give you a brief update which hopefully helps to understand what is going on.
1. General
As you surely know from various sources beluga called in an american investor some months ago, who meanwhile took over command in the company while the previous management has applied for leave of absence.
As a consequence of above development a rather big number of ships have been taken away from beluga and have been transferred to other shipping companies and managers in germany.
The remaining 22 "beluga ships" (ric) are still managed here in bremen as they were in the past. Managed means presently that despite the fact the several parts of the company applied for insolvency all duties are followed up, no matter whether we are talking about technical, nautical or commercial issues.
2. Insolvency
As mentioned above some parts of the beluga group have applied for insolvency. To clarify, an application for insolvency does not mean automatically that doors are closed and lights are switched off. The most important meaning is that an insolvency receiver is brought in charge from the german government to assist the management of the company and keep an eye on the cashflow.
For your info here the most important companies (with effect on you) who filed for insolvency:
- Beluga Chartering
- Beluga shipping
- Beluga Fleet Management
- Beluga Sea Academy
- Beluga Off-Shore Crewing
- Beluga Travel Lounge
3. Present problems
As mentioned in paragraph 2 we are facing presently a situation where 2 managers (the receiver on one hand side, the American investor on the other hand side) are in charge at the same time for important decisions effecting the vessel operation. As you will easily understand this circumstance does not ease the operation of yours ships as different positions have to be united and the cash flow has to be discussed and agreed as well. Accordingly some of you might have experienced already certain difficulties in your daily business but be sure, we did not forget you and the colleagues here in the office are working very hard to provide the best possible service and assistance.
4. Whom to contact
The departments (companies) who applied for insolvency are still fully operational. Accordingly I'd like to ask you to keep addressing all questions and difficulties to the persons in charge you know.
Right now we are having only one change worth to be mentioned - Mr.
Schneider left Beluga at the beginning of this week and mr. Sikorski took over responsibility for team 2 as well.
Communication details are as well unchanged
5. How does above mentioned effect you
The above mentioned changes do of course have a certain effect on you as well. But to be very clear, at this very present moment ALL crew payments do enjoy highest priority and will accordingly be settled in time. In case you are experiencing any problems please be so kind to inform me immediately.
To clarify, I am in close contact with the management of Marlow Navigation as well as MarCrew: clear statement from their side all allotments and monthly wages will be settled in time.
The same counts for the crew members amongst you holding an employment contract from beluga side. As per feedback received from the present management ALL crew wages will be settled in full and in time.
In case you have any question related to leave pay, leave days carried forward, single home allotments or similar please contact me by email any time.
6. Urgent matters / safety
To make sure we are not loosing track on urgent matters I would like to request all of you to keep close contact with the appropriate departments. Additionally I would suggest to copy always mr. sikorski, mr. wunderlich and myself in your top urgent mails to avoid losing or missing out any urgency.
7. General
As a general point I would like to apologize to all of you for the present situation of the company and the problems this has caused to all of you. I would furthermore like to ask you for accepting my apology for the late official information on the status but please be sure that we are doing everything possible and necessary to enable you to carry out your duties without too much interference and interruption from outside.
With kind regards
