Ferry VOLCAN DE TAMASITE hit breakwater, Las Palmas



Ferry VOLCAN DE TAMASITE on arrival to Las Palmas Gran Canaria, from Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Canary Islands, suffered electrical failure, and, understood, wasn’t able to reverse the engines. At around 2030 LT Apr 21 vessel at rather a high speed collided with a breakwater, causing serious damages both to itself and to breakwater. Nobody was injured among 140 passengers and crew. Passengers were accommodated at Las Palmas hotels.
