Container ship CPO JACKSONVILLE mishap, Java sea



Container ship CPO JACKSONVILLE suffered engine failure at around 1600 UTC Apr 20, some cables off Pulau Tidung island northern coast, Thousand Islands, Java sea, while en route to Jakarta. Vessel dropped anchor to avoid grounding, she was stopped, reported, some 150 meters off the coast. According to AIS, engine was restarted in an hour or so, vessel resumed sailing to Jakarta’s Tanjung Priok terminal. She was docked at terminal early in the morning Apr 21. no damages reported.
